Probably Stolen characters are the recurring faces behind your counter: the landlord, the suppliers, the wanted criminals and a handful of people whose stories the 1.0 release finished. The developer has not published a character list, so this page is a who's who built from the official patch notes and launch posts, with launch-week Steam guides and threads for the rest. Each entry says only what a source states, and the player-reported items are labeled as such.
Probably Stolen characters in the 1.0 storylines
The launch post says 1.0 gives completed storylines to several characters: "criminal mastermind" Lou, Eleanor, Officer Lun and Cadet Serpico, plus expanded backstories for the criminals on the wanted list, the Butcher among them. The post-launch plan also names an Organ Trader start "for the Butcher fans". The people with the most detail so far:
- Eleanor: a customer with a package and a flash drive to decide about. Spoilers and the reported outcomes are on Probably Stolen Eleanor.
- Lou: reporting Lou to Security no longer lowers your Black Market reputation (hotfix 1.0.0.1), and Lou can no longer be shot during any visit (hotfix 1.0.0.2).
- Cadet Serpico: a Steam thread says he asks for food at the Dumping Grounds, tracked on the daily summary, and that the Maimed starting perk, a perk that turns off the Dumping Grounds, or several days of injury can lock you out of helping him. Another player says he later pays out serious loot for finishing his storyline.
- Officer Lun: a Security contact; a forum player says trading with the event Security customers such as Lun gives Security reputation.
- Butcher: one of the wanted criminals; the official post calls out his expanded backstory.
Shopkeeper contacts and vendors
| Character | What the sources say |
|---|---|
| Dr. Jackson | Sells the Toolbox after day 14 (Update 049), the Aug Scanner, and a water trading guide since the August playtest. His markup on Normal went from 25% to 15% in hotfix 1.0.0.2. |
| Joe Wild | His Wild Network sells upgrades such as the Retired Water Merchant and the Gutterflow and Rustwater taps, and Update 049 describes hiring Wild to remove evidence. |
| Georgio | The 1.0 post promises more of Georgio, "but no romancing for now". He is also part of the waste story on Probably Stolen radioactive waste. |
| Sawyer | Gives the Underground Exchange Directive; see Probably Stolen Underground Exchange. |
| Odin | A wanted criminal. Update 049 fixed arresting Odin after calling him for a delivery so that he is crossed off the wanted poster. |
| Li Bei Wen | A wanted-poster visitor who sells Nomore Injectors on his first visit and leaves a formula note on his last; reporting him ends the storyline, per the Chemist guide. |
| Merchant | Buys everything, visits on Sundays, and since hotfix 1.0.0.5 keeps visiting after you buy the store. |
| Landlord | Visits on Sundays in the demo-era vendors guide and is the person you buy the store from; see how to buy the shop in Probably Stolen. |
| Cartel Handler | Collects the weekly Dream Dust quota on the Chemist start; see Probably Stolen Chemist. |
| Thieves | Sell stolen goods that carry heat, per the demo-era vendors guide. |
Who is who among customers
Not everyone with a name is a story character, and not everyone is human. Augs wear the face of ordinary customers, and the vendors guide lists their disguises as medical and material buyers; the Probably Stolen augs page covers the tells. Thieves are the other regulars: a Steam thread on playing as a fence says their stolen goods carry heat that fades, which is the heart of the Fence scenario. Appraisal customers are a separate group; see the Probably Stolen appraisal guide.
The launch posts promise more characters later: the Junker, Organ Trader and Street Food Vendor starts, and a main storyline expansion that will affect both the station and how your story ends. This page will grow with them; changes are logged in Probably Stolen patch notes.
Probably Stolen Characters FAQ
Which Probably Stolen characters have storylines?
The launch post names Lou, Eleanor, Officer Lun and Cadet Serpico as completed storylines, plus expanded backstories for wanted criminals including the Butcher.
Can you still shoot Lou?
No. Hotfix 1.0.0.2 made Lou unshootable during any of her visits, and hotfix 1.0.0.1 stopped reporting her from lowering your Black Market reputation.
Can you romance Georgio?
Not yet. The 1.0 post says there is more of Georgio but no romancing for now.
How do you help Cadet Serpico?
Players say you leave food for him at the Dumping Grounds and the game tracks it on the daily summary. The Maimed perk or a long injury can block it. This is a player report.
