Hotfix 1.0.0.2
This hotfix, titled Water Balance, came after players complained that the water start was weaker than in the demo.
- The Water Purifier machine logic was reworked.
- The Moisture Farm price dropped from 650 to 350, and the Water Filter from 50 to 25.
- Dr. Jackson's markup on Normal difficulty went from 25% to 15%.
- Lou can no longer be shot during his visits.
- Fixes: the Gunsmith's 3D printer now comes with its instruction note, the Saved days per run slider shows its value, a blackmailer pay option bug is gone, and a marketplace request display bug in non-English languages is fixed.
If you start with water, the Probably Stolen water guide covers the machines. The Gunsmith scenario page covers the 3D printer.
Hotfix 1.0.0.1
- Reporting Lou no longer lowers your Black Market reputation.
- Items in Smuggler Bays are no longer confiscated when the bay is in the trash can or the Mini Bay sits behind the poster, and the Hypertech Storage Bay can no longer go inside smuggler bays.
- The Merchant now states the discount he actually applies on your difficulty.
- Smaller fixes: tooltips on ultrawide screens, the Immunivax font, tutorial hints, the pause menu, main menu music volume, and the Mods panel now closes with Escape.
Hiding goods is explained in the Probably Stolen contraband guide.
Demo and playtest updates
Before launch, the Probably Stolen patch notes and news posts covered these updates:
- October 19, 2026: a demo update added a retired aquafarmer who sells fish-tank gear with tilapia, eels and sturgeons.
- September 14, 2026 (Update 049): the release date was announced and a new demo went live, with a new early machine and item, two challenge starting perks, equip mode, the Toolbox, bottle printer and vacuum robot upgrades, multi-select, sorting, a Discover button for save files, economy and security tweaks, a Unity upgrade and crash-resistant saves.
- August 7, 2026 (Playtest 48.3.12): the Rat Wrangler scenario was unhidden, clearing an inspection with contraband in the display case stopped granting Security reputation, and several fixes covered non-16:9 monitors and the Hard Mode game-over meter.
- August 6, 2026 (Playtest 48.3.10): Rock Bottom arrived as the hard-mode scenario, along with a water trading guide at Dr. Jackson, three Wild upgrades, full-screen support for non-16:9 monitors, a 60 FPS cap, and a change so the Augmented loss only applies in Hard Mode.
Those scenarios are now in the full game: see the Rock Bottom scenario.
Probably Stolen roadmap: what comes next
The developer announced three free scenarios for after launch: Junker, which is planned soon after launch, then Organ Trader and Street Food Vendor. Expeditions, new appraisal items and a main-story expansion are also planned. No release dates have been published for any of them, and this page will list them once a source does. Hotfixes may continue; check the Probably Stolen official links for the Steam news feed.
